Historical review
This area of work has been carried out at the CIOp since the mid-80s and is fundamentally related to the development and implementation of photoacoustic and luminescence methods and their application to the study of organic molecules. Since 1999, it has had a strong focus on the study of systems of interest in photobiology.
In addition to the specific works and publications carried out in this field, the group that develops these topics has become a national and international reference in the application of photoacoustic techniques and particularly in the development of photoacoustic instrumentation. At the national level, for example, for photochemistry and photobiology groups that operate in the Faculty of Exact Sciences and the Faculty of Agronomy of the University of Buenos Aires; at the National University of La Plata; at the National University of Córdoba and at the University of Santiago del Estero. At the Latin American and international level for having transferred our experience and the developed equipment to research groups that operate, for example, at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Mexico; at the University of Santander, Bucaramanga, Colombia; at the Faculty of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Chile and at the University of Angers, France. The recognition achieved is expressed both in collaborations and joint projects, and in the contribution made to the equipment of these groups (provision of detectors, amplifiers, etc., developed at the CIOp).
